How it started?

I was living my dream life in the UK. I was super happy to get the news that I was going to be a father. Me and my wife were excited to get started with the new life and were looking at new things that we would need for our little one.

Now, all of a sudden, my organization decided to send me back to India. We went from celebration mode to panic mode.

​

Was it even safe to travel in late pregnancy? How was I going to provide a better future for my child now? The hopes and dreams we had built up came crashing down.

​

Now, if I had to keep those hopes alive, I had to do find another job quickly. But I knew that wasn’t easy as I needed Visa Sponsorship. I started applying but didn’t get any traction. I was doing everything which was being advised.

I was tailoring my Resume, adding cover letters, messaging people on LinkedIn. But all in vain. I started thinking that I am not good enough to find a job in the UK.

​

Then I came across the idea of bulk applying by adding the role specific keywords in the Resume. And to my surprise, it worked. I got 3 interviews scheduled. I refined that idea and my Resume further and it was now working better. It became a strategy now. I got 15-20 interviews out of which 3 went to the offer stage.

I am glad to join my current organization where people are given the autonomy and support in their roles without the micromanagement. I am able to enjoy my life better by not having to worry about my visa situation all the time.

Now, I am helping other engineers like me find their dream job in the UK where they can enjoy the freedom and perks that come with it.
